Every couple has their own particular needs, so FertiCare Prague always sets up an individualized course of treatment for each client.
You can expect the following at every appointment:
► 1 Registration

You can register by telephone, online or in person.
It’s important that we get to know our clients before the first visit. Filling out our questionnaires and providing any medical findings and reports from previous examinations or treatment cycles you may have already undergone all provide us with useful information. Send us as much documentation as possible in advance and bring the originals with you to your consultation.
Required tests:
We can perform all these procedures at our clinic, of course.
After completing your registration, the consultation will take place at the FertiCare clinic. If you do not want to travel to the Czech Republic, we can have the consultation over Skype.
One of our IVF experts will discuss the most important points in the treatment with you and answer any questions you may have. If you decide to undergo treatment with us, we will put together an individual treatment plan for you.
The semen analysis, sperm cryopreservation and any tests you haven’t yet had can all be performed on the day of the consultation.
During this phase you take the medications specified in the treatment plan. We do the first ultrasound on about day five to seven of stimulation and adjust the medication dosage based on the results. Stimulation lasts about 12 to 16 days.
If the follicles are large enough, the doctor will schedule the egg retrieval. This usually takes place on the second to fourth day after the second ultrasound. Egg retrieval takes about 10-20 minutes and is usually performed under general anesthesia.
The sperm must be available on egg retrieval day as well. After retrieval is complete, the eggs are fertilized in the laboratory.
The next day we know whether fertilization was successful or not.
Embryo transfer (to the uterus) usually takes place three to five days after egg retrieval, depending on how the embryos develop. Embryo transfer does not require any anesthesia. The procedure is quite similar to a normal pelvic exam and lasts about 10-15 minutes.
The pregnancy test usually comes 14 days after embryo transfer. We recommend that you use this period to relax as much as possible and continue taking any medications and vitamins prescribed in your treatment plan.
If you have a positive pregnancy test 14 days after transfer, the next appointment you’ll need is with your OB/GYN.
Please continue taking your medications until your doctor says they are no longer necessary.

Egg donation is legal and anonymous in the Czech Republic.
You can feel free to tell us about any parameters you have for choosing a donor. Knowing your criteria (eye or hair color, height, blood type, etc.) will help us find the right donor as quickly as possible. We have one of the largest donor databases in the region and we can start treatments at any time with no long wait periods.
Our donor database only includes healthy young women between 18 and 32 years old. Before we add donors to our database, we have them do an interview with our IVF physician. In order to make sure that donors meet our high standards, we also take medical histories for the donor and donor’s family.
Only once they have passed all the tests do we put them into our database.
Every donor has to be examined according to EU regulations. They have blood tests for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and syphilis.
Since we give each client a new donor, we have no problem complying with all the relevant regulations in the donor program.
Once all the necessary examinations are complete and we have put together your individual treatment plan, we can start synchronizing your cycle with your donor’s cycle. The stimulation process for the donor lasts about 12 to 16 days.
