EmbryoGlue (official name "EmbryoGlue medium for embryo transfer") is a medical device - a substance that is designed to support the attachment of an implanted embryo in the uterus. Its composition is a tissue glue that mimics uterine fluid. The use of this substance is intended to increase the chances of a successful pregnancy.

When we talk about tissue adhesive, it is not, of course, an adhesive in the true sense of the word. It is a substance that contains carbohydrates and amino acids. The purpose of this substance is to protect the embryo and to assist its transfer. EmbryoGlue is completely safe and based on the body's own substances.

What does EmbryoGlue consist of?

EmbryoGlue contains two essential substances - hyaluronan and recombinant albumin. Hyaluronan is a substance completely natural to the body, it is actually a complex carbohydrate with a high molecular weight. Its importance lies in the fact that it mimics the uterine fluid during natural pregnancy, when the concentration of hyaluronan naturally increases.

The second substance is recombinant albumin, which is a very important protein for the embryo. The source of this albumin in EmbryoGlue is not a human or animal product. This guarantees its maximum safety with regard to the risk of cross-contamination.

Who is Embryoglue for?

The use of this medium is appropriate for any woman undergoing embryo transfer to the uterus. The use of the glue is absolutely safe and is designed to increase the chances of a successful attachment of the embryo. It is particularly recommended for women over 35 years of age, women with no known cause of infertility or those with a history of implantation failure.
