Dr. Petr Uher is the founder and head physician of the FertiCare Prague clinic and the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Genetics in Karlovy Vary.
In 1984-1985 he was part of a team led by Professor Pilka, who 35 years ago oversaw the first successful in vitro fertilization in Czechoslovakia and the entire Eastern Bloc. It was a healthy baby boy.
He continued working in gynecology after moving to Austria. In 1993-2003 he worked as assistant head of gynecology at the hospital in Dornbirn, Austria, and in 2002-2003 he worked at the Professor Zech Institute in Niederuzwill, Switzerland.
In 2003, Dr. Uher opened the Institute of Reproductive Medicine in Plzeň, Czech Republic. Within three years it had become one of the top three centers in the Czech Republic. In 2007 he opened the Institute of Reproductive Medicine and Genetics in Karlovy Vary, and in 2009 he started the IVF Cube clinic in Prague, where he remained in an advisory capacity until handing the clinic off to minority shareholders in 2017. One year later, he started a new assisted reproduction clinic called FertiCare Prague.
Dr. Petr Uher is an expert in reproductive medicine in the Czech Republic, Austria and Switzerland. He currently advises couples struggling with fertility issues in Wolfurt and Berlin. He is also involved in the management and medical side of the Donna Salus reproductive medicine clinic in Bolzano, Italy.
In addition to his medical work, Dr. Uher spends his time ensuring that all the assisted reproduction clinics he manages serve all their clients with the highest EU medical and ethical standards.
He has written books and articles in numerous publications sharing his medical experience and insight from working in gynecology and genetics in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland and the USA. He is actively engaged in conducting medical studies and takes part in gynecology and sexology conferences around the world. He appears frequently on television and radio shows and enjoys delivering lectures to medical students at Charles University in Prague.
Dr. Uher speaks fluent Czech, German and English, as well as some Russian and Croatian.
